chch sunday skate sessions

Myself and couple of other mates are getting back into it slowly, and we go out every sunday arvo or morning and hit a few parks.

We all used to skate back when we were 13-15, but stopped after getting older and bills and shit. Ive been getting around and going to the park for the last 2 years since the old days and got the other boys back into it.

Keen to meet up with any other chch cunts for a skate. Weve been hitting Templeton park latley. Weve been scoping some others too, like the Rangiora park and doing a wee trip out to Oxford also.

If we can get enough on the roll after a few times, well look into diesel generator, fridge, music and beer.

latley ive been getting my stuff from cheapskates and skategear. Just got a new toy machine 7.6" from cheapskates. IN fact im amazed at the lack of anything under 8" is there.

I agree with pretty much every thing bossdog said, advertising is what you need most of all, got to get the members rolling in so you can get more feed back on what people want in a site like this.

Yea this website definitely needs to have a 'spots' section because thats pretty much what skateboarding is made up of. I think it could have a better layout so that first time users can find their way around. as for advertising something needs to be done, there needs to be people that want to log on to this site, that means daily news feeds about new zealand skateboarding and also international skateboarding, skateboarding team news and pretty much everything skateboarding. go check out manual.co.nz to see what i mean.

the first indoor skate night went realy well dispite a bunch of stuff sacked in one corner, there was 8 people and still heaps of room left for more, 2 rail bars 1 big 1 small a quarter pipe and a manual box. with strait metal sounds the whole night if you want to listen to some of your own sound bring an ipod next time and we'll plug it in.

to every one that was there your skatin was impressive im working on geting a video camera for next time and a prize for best trick i dont know what that prize will be yet

16th of june is the next skate night so ill see you all there at 5:30

so as far i carnt find any1 in NZ doing anything for go skateboarding day. SOOOOOOO im going to do somthing depending on the weather a skate mission is on the cards but if its wet that weekend it will be a full (8:00 till mindnight) skate at the scout hall in NGA same place i run the tuesday skate nights(see ngaruawahia indoor night post).

it would be ideal to have as many people as posible to make the day cramed full of skater goodness. will work on getting heaps of boxes ramps and rails to hit and a video camera or 2 for us all to relive the mayhem. and a tv with to watch skate DVDs o to keep of motivated. and a BBQ as well why not.

but if the weather is fine id like to skate some street spots in hamilton or another town dont know where but ill keep you all posted.

give me feedback so i know if ANYONES keen.

NGARUAWAHIA INDOOR NIGHT

long time since my last post but iv only just got the internet on at home.

thats not worth talking about BUT, every second tuesday i will be holding a indoor skate night at the ngaruawahia scoutt hall, the hall isnt that big but when theres nowhere els to skate its pefect of 10-15 people. it will have atleast a rail bar and fun box that i will take along myself feel free to bring any other obsticals you my have at home. at this point theres maybe 5 people i know could be there so theres still bunches of room for more people and anyones welcome.

im so keen to have the first one that is on the 2nd of june and every second week after and forever more.

ill hook up some music, anything els you thing the night mite need let me know

dont lick winter not alot of places to skate i dont know o any indoor skate parks. let me know if anyone has ideas where to skate in the waikato when its wet.

iv only been snowboaring once at snow planet in auckland, it was sweet for a first time but it was more ice than snow. defanenty want to go to the mountains to do the real deal.

theres also a comp happening in NGA (ngaruawahia) it a couple of weeks or so but there is no date confermed, ill trye get the guy whos organizing it to sign up to this site so he can update. and some other people to.

Yeah, you've got a good point. Its hard to be constantly searching for news and events, so I created this news forum area so that people can post information about news and events.

I think adding an events calendar would be great too, for things like skate day and other events people want to add.

Feel free to post a new thread about any news or events you hear about. I've added a 'go skateboarding day' thread. I noticed that the goskateboarding day website still says 2008 also.

i have only really skated NZ and ozzie.

the parks i skated in ozzie where just average parks there must have been better ones around but i didnt have time to find them.

in NZ it make the most of whats there.

most of what i would buy is through cheapskates

it depends wat brands you want some have this some have that, but in the end be loyal to a spacific place and they will be loyal to you.

I lived in the states for awhile. Parks over there are pretty insane compared to here and the skills of most of the skaters is alot better than over here. Also I liked the fact that no bikes or scooters are allowed in most the parks where I was staying.
